How long will it take to straighten my/my child’s teeth?
The average length of a braces treatment is 18-24 months, but there are several cases we’ve seen that have been shorter or gone longer. To give you a more accurate estimate, we recommend coming to see us for an in-person consultation.
Do braces hurt?
Modern-day orthodontics are more comfortable and personalized than ever before, but with that being said, the mouth does need to adjust a bit after braces have been placed. A little oral soreness and tenderness are common, but these tend to go away after a few days and can be easily managed with OTC medication.
Which is better: clear aligners or braces?
It really depends on the patient! For young children, braces are typically the best choice because the appliance can’t be removed, meaning it’s easier for the treatment to stay on track. But, for teens and adults, an aesthetically friendly clear aligner treatment might be a better fit. After talking with a patient, we can suggest which treatment would be a good choice based on their needs and goals.
Can my child get Invisalign?
We typically do NOT recommend Invisalign for young children. Because the aligners are removable, it’s relatively easy for a child to misplace one or forget to wear them entirely, which can greatly lengthen treatment. Braces tend to make things easier for kids and parents alike.
Will you take my dental insurance?
Most likely yes. Buckhead Orthodontics gladly accepts most dental insurances, and we’ll be happy to go over your benefits with you so you have a better idea of how much you’ll need to pay out of pocket. Just give us a call with your insurance information handy, and we’ll answer all of your questions.
How can I make orthodontic treatment more affordable?
You can sign up for our In-House Membership Plan or CareCredit, both of which will allow you to break up the cost of treatment into small, budget-friendly chunks with little to no interest. Signing up only takes a few minutes, and there are several plans to choose from, meaning you’re bound to find one that works comfortably for your budget.
